comic strips art design illustration
I design and print ready PJANG for Rol Hirst (www.rolhirst.co.uk) an anthology title published 2-3 times a year. I also draw the occasional strip.
So far I’ve done a couple of strips, the book length train station thriller 24 Minutes in issue 2 and in Issue 3’s Blinded by the Light That Never Goes Out, a coming of age tale based around music and having your head flushed down the loo at school, amongst other things. I also have another three strips under way; Girlfriend on the Payroll; The Key and Any Similarity To Persons Living Or Dead…
I love working with Rol, there’s always something about his scripts that gets my drawing arm moving. Over the last 15 years we’ve worked together a lot, on short stories for my Slices and My Life Story anthologies, and together on two on going books Escape Committee and My Legendary Girlfriend, both which never got past issue 3, EC#3 not actually getting past the half drawn stage. I even managed a contribution or two to The Jock Annual, a special collection that accompanied his ongoing The Jock title. It was the second worse drawn story in the book.
